Important News
Due to changes with my web host the site may not operate properly after Sept. 12. I am in the process of changing the site so that, hopefully, the situation will be corrected before soon.

Along with this website I also have items on display at the Taylor Town Trade Center.
Located at Ecorse and Pardee in Taylor.
Taylor Town is open Wednesday though Sunday.
Parking and admission are free.
I will display primarily rocks and minerals at this location.
I began The Science Emporium in 1993. The goal then, as now, was to make science enjoyable. So often I would hear comments like, "science is boring". It didn't take long before these same people would be amazed by something in the store and would want to know how it worked. That is the fun of science.
Out of all the subjects you study in school, science is one of the few where you actually get to do something. It's not just memorizing a bunch of facts, it's doing something with all the information you have available. It gets your mind working, and asking why or how. Once you get used to the idea of investigating the world around you, you realize that science is everywhere. Even the simplest of things - like blowing bubbles - involves unexpected interactions in many areas of science. Science lets your mind wander. To find out why something happens. To wonder what will happen if you do something just a little different. It shows you that it's good to try new and different things. It shows that "failure" is just as important in finding an answer as "success".
While this site is set up primarily to provide you with supplies for doing science experiments, it will - I hope - encourage you to go out and try new things as well. As I get the site going the emphasis will be on supplies. I am planning on adding pages with ideas for you to try. Photographs - mine or ones you would like to send - of the world around us - plants, animals, weather, stones, or other images of science at work. Humor - comics, stories, jokes about science. Feedback from scientists, young and old - about projects you've enjoyed, discoveries you have made, or questions you have.
The site is "under construction" and I hope it will continue to be so. I don't want to build it and let it just sit there. It will be a growing and changing thing. I look forward to getting LOTS of feedback from you - the visitor - about what you like or don't like, things you can't find, do you want more pictures. Less pictures. More project ideas. More links to places to go for help. Help me to make this a place that's fun to visit. I look forward to your comments.

Major additions and changes are in process. Information is being added daily. With over 1500 different items from our old inventory plus new merchandise, getting everything onto the site is a slow process. Please forgive any temporary lack of information. If you have ANY questions or comments click on the link below. Also, if you come across anything confusing on the site or pictures that don't load, or any other problems, please let me know so they can be fixed.
Visit the update page to see a list of changes.
Thank
you for visiting and shopping at
The Science Emporium.
I have had many requests for information on where we have moved to. I miss the store in Livonia and the people we've helped. I am currently selling items at the Taylor Town Trade Center. I still plan on getting into a store front. Check back for information on a new permanent store location. As our former customers can tell you there is much more in our store than can be put on our site, but I'm trying to get as much on as I can. I hope that once I reopen that you will come and explore.
